To commemorate the strike movement of American workers, on July 14, 1889, the Second International led by Engels held its inaugural meeting in Paris. This decision immediately received positive responses from workers from all over the world. ... Since then, working people from all over the world will gather and parade on this day to celebrate. The Chinese people's celebration of Labor Day can be traced back to 1918.
